The Bergman Ferrari

0456AM is a custom Ferrari made by Pinin Farina for Ingrid Bergman in a unique hue of Grigio Ingrid.

It was first displayed at the Paris Salon in late 1954 and delivered to Roberto Rossellini thereafter.

Pinin Farina built the Coupé Speciale following 0402AM, another 375 Coupé Speciale of similar specification also built for Rossellini.

These cars are part of a select few that recieved custom coachwork on the 375 MM competition chassis.

The Bergman Ferrari is unique among the Ferrari production line with several distint features including large rear butresses that make up the rear hatchback.

Another specific feature is the large cutouts behind the front wheels. These pay hommage to the pontoon-fendered 250 Testa Rossa and 1953 Ferrari 375 MM 0364AM. Carl Renner of GM copied this design trait for his 1955 LaSalle II Roadster and the 1955 Corvette.

0456AM is a rare sight, but we caught up with it at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where it took part in the Tour d’Elegance down the Pacfic Coast Highway.

How many Bergmann’s Ferraris are they. Above is #0456AM but there is also #0402AM, which is uglier than 0456 (which is a real beauty)
